Care Assistant – Guthrie House Care Home
- £13.45 per hour
- Contracted to full-time or part-time hours
- Shifts available: Days 8:00AM – 8:00PM or Nights 8:00PM – 8:00AM
- Pension, Paid PVG, Uniform Provided
- 5.6 Weeks Annual Leave (Based on a full-time contract)
About the Role
Every day at Guthrie House brings purpose, connection, and care. As a Care Assistant, you’ll do more than support residents – you’ll build meaningful relationships, bring warmth to their day, and provide practical help exactly where it is needed. You’ll follow individual care plans, support independence, and contribute to a welcoming, family-like environment where residents feel safe, valued, and respected.
You’ll work alongside an experienced team, sharing knowledge and learning on the job. There are opportunities to grow your career, whether that’s into senior care roles, training, or leadership positions.
What We’re Looking For
You may have your SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or be working towards it. Experience in care is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm, reliability, and commitment to making a real difference in the lives of others.

You are kind, respectful, and genuinely motivated to support older people. You work well as part of a team, show initiative, and bring integrity to everything you do. You are ready to learn, grow, and help create a positive, uplifting environment for both residents and colleagues.
Location
Guthrie House Care Home is situated in Edinburgh’s Liberton area and provides nursing care for up to 88 residents.
